LIVGEL TM : LIVGEL TM contains following active ingredients.Phyllanthus niruri: Bhumiamla have been reported to be effective against Hepatitis B andother viral infections 1 .Ficus oppositiflia:Terminalia bellerica: Jadon et al (2007) have reported the protective effect of Terminaliabellerica fruit and its active principle, gallic acid at different doses against carbontetrachloride intoxication which shows hepatoprotective activity 3 .Lepdium sativum: Lepidium sativum extracts protects the liver from damage thehepatoprotective action of the plant due to the ability of the plant to inhibit lipid peroxidationin the liver 4 .Juniperus communis: It was found that extract of Juniperus communis treated group showsremarkable decrease in serum Aspartate aminotransferase, serum Alanine aminotransferase,total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, and alkaline phosphatase level which shows hepatoprotectiveactivity of plant 5 .Picrorhiza kurroa: Hepatocytes death leading to hepatic injury when there is an elevation inthe level of normal serum transaminase enzymes Picrorhiza kurroa has noteworthyhepatoprotective action. 6Vitex speciasa: Vitex has an effective herbal product for the prevention of chemical-inducedhepatic damage. It is due to its flavonoid content and its antioxidant activity 7 .Terminalia chebula: Terminalia chebula efficiently protects the liver against acute andsevere liver injury, and the underlying possible mechanisms may involve the enhancement ofantioxidant capacities and modulation of inflammatory reactions. 8Rosa damascena: Rosa damascena has shown potent antioxidant activity. It inhibitssuperoxide radical formation, hydroxyl radical generation and lipid peroxide formation 9 .Boerhevia diffusa: Boerhavia diffusa extract possess potent hepatoprotective activity againstCCl4 – induced hepatic damage in Swiss albino mice which is mainly due to its antioxidativeproperties. 10Plumbago zeylanica: Plumbago zeylanica has significant hepatoprotective activity. Thismay be probably due to the higher content of the triterpenes, tannins and flavonoids 11 .Berberis aristata: The extract of Berberis aristata leaves and fruits showed hepatoprotectionpossibly through inhibitory action on hepatic drug metabolizing enzymes 12 .Tephrosia Purpurea: Tephrosia Purpurea shown the presence of flavonoids and phenoliccompounds, which have been known for their anti-oxidant and Hepatoprotective activities.may be due to its free radical scavenging activity 13 .Amoora rohituka: Amoora rohituka has significant reduction in AST, ALT, ALP andbilirubin levels in blood which shows hepatoprotective activity 14 .
